Research project on the analysis of cityscapes and images related to the modernization process that took place between the 1930s-50s, and the way images were used to create, challenge, convey, reinforce and legitimize narratives. The title Modernidades Virreinales, directly refers to the former Spanish Viceroyalties, nowadays modern Latin American capitals of Mexico City, Lima, and Bogotá and the images come mostly from modernist magazines that circulated between 1926-1950s.
